Ingredients
Katsu
-2 pork loin/chicken
- a littlesalt and pepper
- flour
- 1 beaten egg
- panko/breadcrumbs
- oil for frying
Sauce
-100ml dashi broth
- 2 tbsp
soy sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 medium onion
- 2 eggs
Instructions
To Make Tonkatsu.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cover the meat evenly with flour.
- Dip in beaten egg.
- Put in panko and press gently.
- Fry it in hot oil for 3min at both sides.
- Place the Katsu on paper towels to get any remaining oil out
- Cut it in bite sized slices.
Making The Sauce
- Make the Dashi Broth as instructed in the package.
- In a small saucepan, bring the dashi broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar to a light boil.
- Cut The Onions in Wedges and beat the eggs.
- When the sauce starts boiling put the onion slices in and cover them with a lid to simmer until soft.
- Put the sauce in a pan and add the eggs. Proceed as if you're making scrambled eggs until you're happy with the consistence.
- Take the pan off the heat.
Serving
- Place the cooked rice in a deep bowl.
- Add the Sauce, Onion, Egg Mix over it.
- Finish by putting the Katsu on top and add some greens if you want for decorations
